A rare and unique native perennial, Appalachian Mountain Mint stands out from other mountain mints with its taller, more graceful growth habit and later bloom time. Growing up to 4 feet tall, it forms elegant clumps that sway gently in the breeze, making it a beautiful addition to pollinator gardens, food forests, and native landscapes.

Unlike the more common American Mountain Mint (P. virginianum) with its dense, upright clumps, P. flexuosum has a slightly looser, arching form, giving it a softer look in the garden. Its bloom period also stretches later into the season, providing a nectar source when many other flowers have faded.

As with other mountain mints, this species is a pollinator magnet, buzzing with bees, butterflies, moths, and beneficial wasps all summer into fall. Its fragrant, minty foliage adds another layer of value, with traditional uses in herbal teas and natural remedies.

This is one of the harder-to-find mountain mints, making it especially valuable for native plant enthusiasts who want to diversify their plantings.
