Whorled Milkweed (Asclepias verticillata) is a graceful, slender native perennial with fine, thread-like leaves arranged in elegant whorls along its stems. In summer, it produces clusters of delicate white to pale green flowers that attract a wide variety of pollinators, especially butterflies—including serving as a vital host plant for Monarch caterpillars. Drought-tolerant once established, it thrives in well-drained soils and is perfect for prairie-style plantings, native meadows, and low-maintenance gardens. Its understated beauty, long bloom time, and strong ecological benefits make it a valuable addition to any wildlife-friendly landscape.
