Maidenhair Tree, Ginkgo
Ginkgo trees, also known as maidenhair trees, are remarkable living fossils that have been around for millions of years. Ginkgo is a witness to Earth’s ecological history, representing the oldest seed plant lineage easily seen in our surroundings. Ginkgo forests sheltered the beginning and the end of dinosaurs, and the rise and fall of many dynasties. These unique trees are renowned for their distinct fan-shaped leaves that turn a beautiful golden yellow in the fall, creating a stunning display. Ginkgos are highly resilient to pests, diseases, and pollution, making them popular choices for urban landscaping. Beyond their ornamental value, ginkgo trees hold cultural significance in many parts of the world and are revered for their medicinal properties.
